Bad freshman year... Georgetown impossible?

Freshman year has been hell. A lot of family problems. My father has been viscious. Abusive verbally and visits over there have been hell. I actually locked myself in the guest bedroom because I was afraid that my stepmother's nephew was going to rape me. (Yes, he is capable and would have.) My mother took my father to court for child support(my mom is in a lot of debt. We were in DIRE financial straits) and he in turn is threatening to take her to court to take custody of me. I've been trying to jump through hoops and bounds to meet my father's every demand but I'm just met with more hate. My GPA has taken a toll. I've been going up and down the road from my mom's house to my dad's house and haven't been focused on my studies.

I've got a B in every core class except math and MAYBE physical science.

Gifted English-B
World Geography-B
Physical Science Honors- Still a toss up. May be an A or B
Alg.1.Pt.1-A

If I work extremely hard the next three years and pull out 4.0s could I still get in? I'm not sure how bad this will screw with my class rank because my school has a high dropout rate. For example the freshman class could be 450 kids. But by the end of senior year it's 200.

Is all hope lost?

I know ivies are out of the question but what about Georgetown? And if not Georgetown what about Tulane?

I'm black if that means anything as far as URM.

-sigh- I'm in need of major do over. This is to much for 14/15 year old to handle.

Should I mention WHY freshman year was bad in my essay?

Oh and another thing my future EC’s will be

Tennis(hopefully good enough for varsity)
African American Club
Key Club
and maybe SADD

You should focus on how you are going to best get through next year mentally, emotionally and health wise. Getting into Georgetown or another selective college is not a priority. Getting through the next year without a breakdown of sorts is. Is there a family member or other trusted adult you can discuss your issues with?

I also want to do a lot of volunteering at our local animal shelter when this whole custody thing settles down. If I work hard there and get great RECS from the mayor for my contribution will that help?

@CPTOFTHEHOUSE Honestly I don’t know. I haven’t told ANYONE about my stepmother’s nephew because I’m afraid of what would happen if I did. My stepmother would automatically take her nephews side and my dad would take my stepmothers side.

Her nephew has made sexual comments towards me right in front of her and she doesn’t care. I haven’t told my mom because she’s stressed enough. I love my mom to death and I don’t want her to worry.

Bump bump bump bump

Eh this thread got a little personal. But I just wanted to give an understanding of why my freshman performance was poor.

COME ON YALL PLEASE.

I’ve taken my college expectactions down a notch. Do I need to take them down another notch? HAVE I RUINED MY LIFE? :(

If I went to a state school and did amazing would ivy grad be an option?

Bumpin bumpin bumpin bump bump bump!
