Bad grade in summer school class while still in undergrad

Hi, I'm going to be entering my sophomore year of college this upcoming fall and I decided to take Calc over the summer in order to give myself something to do. I kind of had given up at finding a job at that point and wanted to do SOMETHING with my summer... so I signed up for it. Well, I got a job about a week before class began so I decided to try and juggle the two. Which was a bad idea (obviously since I'm talking about bad grades) because I'm already kind of poor at math to begin with so taking a higher level math class twice as fast in half the time was just a recipe for disaster. Add to the fact that I ended up closing every night before my tests and there we are.

I actually was doing fine in the class (at least, fine enough to transfer the class to my college) until last week, when we had our last test and a couple days ago we had our final. I wasn't having the best two weeks academically (or at work... or socially, tbh) and my grade tanked a full letter grade in just one week.

I know this is all my fault-- I shouldn't have worked so much, I should have concentrated more on my homework, etc.-- but there's nothing I can do about it. It's bad enough that I pretty much wasted eight weeks of my summer and about $500 without thinking of how it's going to affect my prospects for graduate school.

So here's the thing-- I plan on going on to get my master's in nurse-midwifery. I'm doing nursing and gender studies for my undergrad. The class, technically, has nothing to do with my field. So am I completely screwed? The grade itself wouldn't have transferred anyway-- only the credits would have so it wasn't going to affect my GPA anyway. I know it's just one bad grade and everyone gets bad grades (my GPA so far is a 3.7 so it's not like this is an everyday occurrence) but I'm kind of worried. Not as worried as I could be, but I'm reaaaally hoping that grad schools will forgive me if I maintain my usual level of work during the regular school year...

Thanks!

GPA looks good. you still have that chance in graduate school. Also, graduate school do look at what you took, not only your GPA so if that class has nothing to do with your major it wont hurt you. If you feel so strongly about it, you could also try repeating the course?

One grade is extremely unlikely to keep you out of grad school, no matter how bad it is. Particularly one that's not field-relevant.
