bad grade on music final!

i got a really poor grade on my band final. I got a 67 out of 100. I really did not think i performed badly at all and I argued with my teacher but he wouldn't budge. I've got 90 and higher avges the other 4 quarters..so my final average for the class will be a 86-87ish.

Will this look bad when applying to colleges? I am aiming for competitive colleges and I am hoping that this doesn't lower my chance of getting accepted. My school does not factor in music or art electives when calculating weighted GPA and class rank.

Someone please tell me rank/weighted GPA and rigor of schedule will place precedent over unweighted GPA...thanks

(P.S. my intended major is NOT music; it will be one of the sciences)

“Well, this applicant looks good. Everybody cool with him?”
"Wait a minute, he got a D on his music final!
“My god, how did I miss that? Our school can’t possibly admit such a criminal!”
“Call the FBI!”

I never studied music in my life and I got into a pretty selective college.

^^ ok but I DID take music.

the fact that I took the class does that get factored into my grade?

Given that music did not preclude me from admission, why are you concluding that getting a D on your music final will preclude you?

Come on man, common sense is your friend. Did the scenario I describe seem realistic to you?

O.K. i get what you’re saying…although i found the sarcasm at the end quite rude.

No, I think you’ll be fine, especially with that happening only once.
