Hello cc, I am currently a freshman in highschool and so far, my grades have been pretty bad. My first semester grades have been 4B's and 2A's which is terrible. What is worse is that I tried to bring up my grade 2nd semester but so far, i still have 3B's and 3A's. I am really worried about the impact my freshmen grade might have. I know I might sound dumb but I was wondering if this would ruin my chances for an ivy league school. I am asian so this is pretty bad. haha. any help would be great!

You may think that a couple of B’s will completely ruin your chances to go to a good college, but breathe. Relax. Some colleges ignore the freshman year completely, so just focus on bringing your GPA up and having good ECs. And there are a lot of good schools that aren’t ivies.

Don’t focus on Ivies. Barely anyone gets in even with a 4.0.

Don’t sweat it. As @neonerudite said, some colleges don’t care that much about freshman year or ignore it completely (but don’t bomb freshman year on purpose). I’m nearly in the same boat as you.

Don’t most privates look at freshman grades?

@gooodonee I failed a class my freshman year and had many C’s and I did just fine in my application cycle a few years back, even with schools that looked at freshman grades. Don’t sweat it, just keep on improving
