Im applying ealry to columbia, and i had a bad interview. The rest of my stats are good tho, and I think I have a strong essay. Is my chance at getting in compltely gone?

Was it an on-campus interview, or an alumni interview? One admissions book that I read said that interviews generally are not important factors in the admission decision. It would have to be exceptionally good or bad to really make a difference. If you were tongue-tied, or at a loss for anwers to some questions, I would not call that very serious. If someone was insulting or used a curse word, that would be exceptionally bad. It might be possible to just be honest with them and obtain a second interview. I also botched one of mine in the past, and did not do this, but should have. The interviewer was antagonistic and inconsiderate. It really was not my fault.

its was an on cmapus interview, and I was just totally unprepared

try to request another interview. apologize for your first interview and DON'T BLAME THE INTERVIEWER!!! i apologize for shouting, but seriously, own up to your mistakes. columbia won't take someone if they blame another person for their bad interview

I agree with twistycsc. It can't hurt to just tell the truth, and have another interview. In my case, I was also unprepared- let a campus tour guide pressure me into doing the interview that day. Then, when the interviewer accused me of being an overachiever, I couldn't come back with a good response. When she asked for details on one of my ECs, I blanked out.
