does a bad interview ruin your chances??

I didn't have a great interview. I came out with sort of mixed feelings.. Do you think this will greatly affect my chances for admission ?? anyone know of someone who has got in with an "okay" interview?

From what I hear its an additional rec.. can only help you. It wouldn't be fair if it was detrimental because some people can;t get them.

I have had at least one interview where I thought the applicant was bright but very boring and conventional and probably not very self-motivated or introspective - only to find out later that she was admitted while other people who I thought made much better applicants were rejected.

It's only one piece of the puzzle and the interviewer doesn't see it all.

Okay thanks a lot.. I feel much better now...

Denzera's post is entirely correct.

This is horrible logic, and incorrect. It's premised on the misstatement that a rec can only help you.
