Well I applied to Michigan and took the October act. Today I checked my grade and got a 25. Is there any hope for me at all? I can't help it. I despise act. I have a near 4.0 and with ap classes. I deserve to go

You also deserve the 25 you got.

everyone deserves to go… haha. Just retake it and study for the next one. I think its in december?

Chance Back?

well your 4.0 should go along with a high rank, and if you do have a high rank and some good ECs, you might still be able to get in. Although it will be very difficult.

Have you considered taking the SAT? It’s more of a pure reasoning test than the ACT.

Next time, don’t mention deserving to go. It makes you sound arrogant, despite the fact that you very well may not be. Put time in to study and take it again. Studies show that people perform better on those tests if they RELAX when they take them instead of get anxious…SO, next time tell yourself that going to UM isn’t everything and that it’ll all be okay, no matter what you get. Demonstrate interest by contacting the local admissions officer, visit campus, and put time into your essays.

as the second poster said… you deserved the 25 you got. If you don’t have the talent required to score high, you need to have the wisdom to realize that you need to prepare and practice. sounds like you didn’t.

irony trumps everything…

If you scored a 25 on the ACT and maintain near 4.0 with all AP classes, your school obviously heavily inflates grades.

I actually did a research project on how stupid the ACT is. It’s pretty dumb, but yeah, you can’t fight it so get yourself a practice book and do better next time.
(I was a little more eloquent in my essay)

All standardized tests are stupid but deserving people take advantage of that stupidity and study for the test in order to do well.
