So I am a current senior this year and I might not be the only one, but when it comes to tests I really suck at them I have taken the SAT at least twice and my highest score was like a 1720 and I took the ACT once and got a 25 :(. I am trying to apply to Berkeley and UCLA and other schools and I was just wondering if prestigious colleges look beyond numbers (GPA and test scores) and pick the candiates with like good personal characteristics and dedication? Please share your stories with me plz! I think that the only thing that stands out between me and others is that I have volunteered at the library for the past 4 years....

Colleges like Berkeley and UCLA will only look past a 25 unless the other parts of your application are spectacular. While you may be able to succeed at one of these colleges, there’s plenty of other applicants with better numbers that will likely be admitted before someone with a low GPA and test scores.

Do you think that a 3.4 unweighted GPA is too low for Berkeley or UCLA?

Unfortunately both your GPA and test scores are too low. What other schools appeal to you and are more realistic than these two…which are only two out of thousands of good schools!
