Bad SAT Math II Subject Test Score

Hi everyone,

I applied to Georgia Tech on the Early Action deadline. On my Common App, I put in “SAT Math II” subject test as a test I was planning on taking. However, I just received my score yesterday for the October 6th exam (delay in scores for whatever reason), and I did not score well on it at all. Will it look bad if I say I’m have Math II as something I plan on taking, but choose not to put in the scores because I do not like it?

Also, if it helps answer the question, I am planning on majoring in Computer Science. Georgia Tech’s website says that submitting Subject Tests is optional, but can be added if it helps your application. Would not putting it there hurt me/set me apart from other applicants.

Thank you so much, and hope for an answer soon.

Depends on what the score is. I think that if you’re above 750 you should be fine

For Tech, the Subject Tests aren’t really that important. It’s not like MIT or CalTech. It could help you if you’re close with another applicant, but it’s not going to make or break you. I know plenty of people from my school alone who attend GT without subject tests. Granted, I am in state.
