Just to get it out there my sophmore year gpa was a 2.9 I took classes that were too hard for me and struggled and was unmotivated.
This year i have a schedule that better suits me and am extremely motivated to do well and get into a good school. This year (my junior year) I am taking 1 AP and 1 honors (counts as 5.0 also for colleges). If I get all As this year or at least as close I will have a gpa of above 4.0 which I believe is entirely realistic.
This means I could have an average gpa of between 3.4-3.6 (not really sure how it all works). Assuming that I do well this year and do well on the SAT or ACT lets say a 2000(I am very good at test taking), what california or near schools are realistic? I love UCSB and SDSU but I realize that ucsb is pretty much way out of my league and SDSU is only takes about 1 in 4 applicants.

Btw my extracurricular are soccer- all 4 years team captain JV year 10
Volleyball-only year 9 team captain again tho
This year I will be joining interact club and friendship club-with special needs students
I also am going to be looking at going on a service trip for a week or two over spring break.
Also I am a restraunt hostess and I work more than 12 hours a week.
