I just took my first ACT this past Saturday at a school and I was not contempt with my experience there. We were ushered to a theater sitting area and had to wait for the members to get organized which took 30 minutes past 8 o clock when we were suppose to be testing. The Proctor also gave us the wrong booklet twice before finally giving us the answer booklet which took another 15 minutes. I ended up starting the test 9 o clock and the test room had no AC on but a loud fan that provided no cooling to my area. I sat through testing sweating. I'm trying to find an area to write my complaint on the ACT website, but cannot find it anywhere. Did anyone have a bad testing experience and reported? I'm afraid this all will somehow hinder my score. Also because I'm a senior I really cant let these things pass by and hurt my score somehow. Thanks!

Omg you started an hour late and you sweat during the test? That’s so horrible! Everybody, let’s forget about war, poverty, disease, and other trivial things. Let’s all take a moment out of our lives to make sure ACT hears about the hell this person had to go through.

The above comment is unnecessary but I assure you that filing a complaint will not do anything to help you. ACT will not bump your score or give you another retake or anything. Many, many people, myself included, have bad experiences with standardized testing. Sorry to hear it

Hi coldplaylower-
sorry to hear about your bad experience…but wanted to make 1 comment. Isn’t 8am the reporting time? For us the students were to report at 8am…but the test is not scheduled to start at 8am. Just wanted to let you know that in most cases, the planned start time is later.

3/4 of the times I’ve taken the ACT there has been no AC (taken at two different schools). Thats why I test in athletic gear. Unless you were given less time on a test or the proctor was blaring music (or something like that), you have no reason to report it.

This may sound a little rude (I apologize in advance), but you really should stop being such a wimp. You’re a senior, you should know by now everything won’t be perfect. My first ACT was the June 2012 one, and I had to deal with no AC in hot and humid Alabama weather.

alright sorry i asked… I guess I came off winney… I wasnt the only one complaining either. And I know the ACT will no bump my score, but it was quite frustrating. Anyways thanks…
