Bad Topic?

I plan to write about how my therapist influenced my life. However, I will not be mentioning my illness (although one will probably be able to infer that I have some sort of anxiety). Would colleges find this topic for my essay off-putting?

Bump…

I think you should mention your anxiety, otherwise, colleges may be confused as to WHAT exactly the therapist helped you with since therapists do a lot of different things.

I meant if I should write about this or stay away from the topic altogether.

Its not really about the topic that you choose, rather how you execute it

There are threads in the Parent Forum on whether or not to suggest or reveal mental illness to colleges.

It’s not about the topic… it’s about sending a message.
I say go for it. You can talk about how you conquered your illness with said therapist and portray him/her as a very influential person who helped you get your life together. There’s so much possible material there.
