Bad words on the Common App Essa

I searched, but only found 1 thread that was related, and it wasn't very helpful. I am writing an essay and in it, I quote someone else who says a racial slur. I don't think I will type it on here, but it is for Asians and is generally looked down upon when said.

So my question is, if used in the correct context, would a racial slur be okay to use? I quoted it (someone else said it), and I want my essay to have full effect.

Any insight?

Agh. That’s tough. There really aren’t other quotes you can use?
And it’s really preferable that you don’t use quotes at all in your essay anyway…

Is it like a dialog quote or a famous quote?

@Wanton: I didn’t realize that I shouldn’t use quotes, but I feel that some strength will be taken away if I get rid of them.

@Jgraider: Dialogue quote.

Star it out? Like for example F***. So it shows you aren’t totally inconsiderate, but they can probably guess the word anyways

Do you end up contradicting the person or triumphing over racism in some way? If so, use it. If not, don’t.

@NuclearPenguins: I had that in mind. I think I am going to use that!

@noimagination: Yes, in a way, I triumph over racism. I’ll star our a few letters, but leave enough so that the reader can guess exactly what it is.

is it okay if I say “large behinds”? My essay is kind of snappy, but I promise you it has meaning. Do you think admissions will mind (applying to some Ivies, JHU & Stanford) will mind that on my common app essay?

thank you

I’m sure that’s okay, rainbow haha.
