Bahhhhhh

14 more days....

Ok, back to writing writing writing.

Fourteen more days to what ? :p

i'm either 12 or 10 depending on if i can reschedule one of my finals! :P

lindz, congrats on your upcoming graduation! Do let us know what it's like.

Thanks :) I will do that.

[7 days and 2 hours til I'm done with finals!!]

Yay I made it through my hell week of writing papers.

Finals week isn't going to be too bad, then it's ORIENTATION time!

Yay I got a 100% on my first final-- business law.

One down, four to go.....
(which explains why I'm procrastinating online :))

Congrats, lindz! S. is taking that course next semester. Any advice for him since you apparently aced it? Have you ever taken 17 credits per semester in the Smith School? S. is registered to do that in the fall.

My advice is take it with Judge Lewis (she's great, and lets students use a 1-page "cheat sheet" on exams which is super helpful)... if that's not possible, general advice for the class is to keep up with the readings! This means reading upwards of 50 pages a week, including cases and textbook. It's a lot of material but all the concepts build on each other so understanding what you read before is very helpful.

I haven't taken 17 credits in a few years, but plenty of people do take more than 15 (typically 18-- is your son in a couple of 1-credit classes?) and they seem to do just fine. Group work can get to be a hassle when taking multiple business classes, especially towards the end of the semester.

Just finished my last final of my undergraduate career (since I have no immediate plans to go to grad school, I've been calling it my "last final EVER"!!)

What a relief. I nearly started laughing out loud as I finished my last essay. I'm pleased with myself for staying focused though and studying for this exam just as much as all my others. :)

Congratulations!!!! When is graduation? Will you stick around this board a little bit this summer and early next fall to help the newbies out? :)

Graduation is Thursday the 21st and Friday the 22nd. I think I'll stick around this board for at least another "admissions season" -- it's pretty addictive! :)

Good luck lindz!

Congrats! Very happy for you.

Congratulations lindz!

DONE DONE DONE!!!!! :) Done with finals, done with graduation, and done taking pictures with campus landmarks. Not done writing thank-you notes, but that should be soon!

For those interested, graduation was.... well, a bit boring to be honest. The main ceremony with all 6700 graduates was quite long and the part concerning the graduates (standing as our college name is called, tossing our tassels) was just a couple minutes at the very end. I did enjoy walking into the Comcast Center to Pomp & Circumstance (seems like just yesterday I was doing it in HS) and seeing myself broadcast on the Jumbotron! The business school graduation was a similar length, as calling 700 students' names (undergrad AND graduate degrees) takes a while.

Now on to my list of real world tasks: registering my car in VA, getting new auto insurance, filling out preliminary job paperwork, and finishing moving into my apartment. Whew.
