i'm having trouble balancing my time. I feel like I dont' have enough time to finish everything that needs to be done. ex: school work, SAT and SAT subject tests...how do u guys manage to get everything done?? lilke how many hours do u spend on school work, and studying for the SATs??? and wat time do u guys go to bed?? I usually have to stay up until 1 or 2, but my brain isn't clear...so the study result isn't really good....and also, if u guys do stay up, wat do u use to keep u awake???

On a normal day, I might go to bed around ten or so.
Unless there's a lab due, in which case I wait 'till eleven to start on it, then stay up all night finishing it up.
Yes, I'm no better at balancing my time than you are.

I'm in two plays right now, one of which has rehearsals until 6 every night and all day on Saturdays, so I have a pretty crazy schedule (I'm also in honors classes and play the piano)...I just do homework during whatever downtime I have and then get started on it when I get home. Being busy actually helps a lot.

have you read the ninja turtles handbook...that might help

Well, I'll tell you what I do...I'm in all honors classes, practice piano 1 1/2 hours (90 minutes, really), volunteer 4 hours, participate in a school activity until 4:30 each day, and go to bed by 10:30. I also read about 3 books a week, and have friends over. PLus i watch uber amounts of reality tv hahaha.

Don't procrastinate! And guilt, guilt, guilt yourself up. For example, if I have a chem test a week out, and I don't study the first night it's assigned, I guilt myself up about not studying (you'll have to pull an all-nighter, you won't be able to hang out as long with friends). If I have a lot of time and can't motivate myself, I do the thing that's due last and work myself up to the present. That really helps if I ever get into a crunch.

To specifically answer your questions, it all depends on what courses/teachers/homework/tests. For example, my latin teacher is very laid back and I rarely do more than 10 mins work. My chem teacher is insane though and it's rare we don't have over 2 hours of work...so it depends.

If I have a test, I try to study like 30 mins/a day (there's only about 9 tests/a year for most classes, making up 75% of final grades, so it really isn't that much to study for, also there are grade requirements for honors classes for the next year, so even an 85 might knock you out) for the week up to tests.

SAT IIs (i haven't started prepping for sats yet)-I prepped for biology by doing 10 pages/a night two months before. Sometimes that was 5 minutes if it was an easy topic, sometimes it was 2 hours because it was hard.

Just a final thing: DON'T STAY UP! however you can, get back to normal sleep patterns. Your brain will only work like 50% of what it could do on regular sleep, taking more time, and being inefficient. Also, carry books with you/utilize "extra" time. Do you have homeroom? Instead of just staring at the ceiling, study. On the bus and everyone's on their ipods? Do your busywork homework. I get a lot of annoying work done that way, and save my "100% focus" homework for when I have a block of time.

Good luck time managing!

thx AnonPerson1 !!!

I balance my time the best way. I dont study for certain things. I have my priorities set in place.

thats why I have a horrible sat score probably but I frankly don't care very much. I spend my time learning things I want to learn. I think I would love it if I were homeschooled =/
