I can't seem to find any information about Balch triples on the Internet. Can anyone provide some information about Balch triples? For example, how are the beds placed in the room? Is the room big enough? How much bigger than a double? Does it have its own sink or maybe even bathroom? Thanks.

I dated a girl who was in a triple in Balch. The room was pretty big in my opinion, better than 2 people in a double. There was a sink but no bathroom. In my opinion, Balch is pretty nice place to live. It has a lot of amenities that other places don’t: a big screen TV downstairs, a lot of programing, the Carol Tatkon Center is right there, you can grab a magazine or DVD from the Womyn’s Center downstairs, the rooms are big.

I’m not sure what you mean about how the beds are placed. They’re not stacked on top of each other or side by side by side if that’s what you mean lol

I was hoping they weren’t stacked on top of each other. Or one on the ground and two stacked. I would hate to end up being the top bunk bunk bed or something. Thanks for the response!

I’m hoping for more helpful responses!

Anyone know where we can find the room dimensions for our specific dorm?

I’m in a Balch single, and I know the sizes differ.

Thank you!!

I lived in Balch last year. The rooms are spacious and offer a lot of amenities. The thing with Balch though is that the rooms vary greatly. While most doubles have two beds, two closets and a shared sink with another room, I found rooms with bathrooms, three closets, private sinks and more. Also, though most triples don’t have stacked beds, they may this year if housing is tight. They could force a triple into a double sized room. Compared to other buildings on north, that wouldn’t be too bad anyways. Good luck and ENJOY Balch. It was fun.

Thank you Cornellian2013 for that info!

Anyway, now I’m a bit nervous. I also read that the triples were not that big. My whole life, I’ve only lived with me, myself, and I, in my own room. I sleep in my own room and do homework in my own room. Spoiled me. So when I decided to get a roommate next school year, I was very, very hesitant. But what does Cornell do? Place me in a TRIPLE with TWO roommates! Hm… I will need a lot of adjustment.

Please, if anyone can provide additional information about Balch triples, that’d be great. Actually, if people can talk about their experiences with triples, that’d be awesome, too! Is having two roommates much worse than having one? Hearing 3 alarm clocks ring in the morning… doesn’t appeal to me. :(
