Hi there!! What are the chances of getting off the Ball State Priority Waitlist??? It is my top school and I would commit if I was accepted, but I’M SO STRESSSSSSSSSED WHAT DO I DO
@mtAllDayEveryday If it is your top school, email Bill Jenkins and Andrea Sadler and let them know that you would commit if you’re accepted. People definitely got off the waitlist last year.
Does anyone know how many offers Ball State makes? Do they make more than they want, to ultimately yield the desired class size? Or do they offer only the number of spots they have available and then move to priority waitlist?
There must be priority waitlist and a regular waitlist. Some received phone calls and some received only emails. Guessing there’s probably a good chance of coming off the list as ‘priority’.
1 on our list of known possibilities but ‘absolutely would commit’ is a challenge for us. We are waiting on 5 more artistic decisions. Aargh
Thank you! I did that Saturday night!!
Thank you! Mine was priority and I heard over the phone:)
I feel you.
Congrats! I was priority waitlisted too, hopefully we’ll hear back soon
Fingers crossed!!!
Priority vs regular waitlist?? So is priority the first 20, then after that they start regular waitlist students?
@TimeToFindInfo Sounds like they offer around the amount that they want then go to waitlist from there. I do know someone that got in the program from the waitlist in the middle of May last year. But im sure movement maybe a little slower this year due to current circumstances. Anyone previously go through their waitlist that can give insight?
Hi Tyler,
I’m a current senior MT and I work in the theatre and dance office with recruitment. There isn’t a specific number for the priority waitlist students but they are highly considered after the first round of decision have gone out. That being said, you can still be accepted from the regular waitlist depending on how many students accept their spot in the class.
@BSUMTSENIOR Are there artistic scholarships for those that are currently “Priority Waitlisted”? We have received our academic scholarship but not heard anything about an artistic scholarship. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! If people are declining their slots at BSU (I know a few), are you more likely to take more Priority Waitlist??? BSU has been one of my biggest dream schools since I toured in over a year ago and I’m so stressed so I’m sorry I keep asking questions hahah I’m so sorry!
My DD is also priority waitlist and it will be her choice if she can come off the list!!! I figure we will not know her school till almost June 1 now that everything is delayed - because we will wait and HOPE AND PRAY for Ball State
@MT85 Every student that auditions is considered for incoming scholarships. Usually once you get a call from the department and you are accepted in the program, you are then prompted on departmental scholarship options. That being said, much more of our scholarship dollars go to current students through an application process during the year.
@mtAllDayEveryday No need to be sorry, that’s a great question. As people decline slots and they are moved from priority to accepted, we will then move to our regular waitlist.
@BSUMTSENIOR is the priority waitlist organized by a score-like ranking or by " type" IE does a male tenor need to replace a male tenor kind of thing? thanks
@BSUMTSENIOR - thank you for participating in this forum! In addition to the questions others have asked - does BSU make MORE offers than spots available, so you have to wait and see how all of that plays out? Or are there just enough offers for available spots, so as soon as someone declines an offer, you can pull someone from the priority wait list?
we have the same question about the Priority Wait list. Fingers crossed for my D.
