Ballet at Princeton and Visiting

I was just wondering how important it is to actually try and take a ballet class at Princeton/talk to people involved in dance if I'm interested in ballet...

The problem is that I can't visit during the spring (due to ballet rehearsals...ironic), but since I will be going to the East Coast in early June, I was planning to visit then. However, with classes not being in session, I wouldn't really be able to see a ballet class or anything.

Ballet is a very serious activity for me, and I plan to send a supplement/video and everything, but I was just wondering if it's really important to be there while classes are in session specifically in terms of ballet, or will a resume/video/etc. suffice? If so, I guess I'd have to look into trying to visit at some other time, but that would be pretty hard, especially since I live in CA and stuff...Thanks!

My daughter took a class, was evaluated, and had an assessment sent to the admissions office. I’m sure it didn’t hurt. But I don’t think it would be worth a special trip across country. You might try calling the head of the dance department to get advice and establish some visibility in the meantime.
