@futurejournalist - The week in Washington is one of the reasons I signed up! I’m not sure about the details but in the video it showed the student leaders spending a day doing community service (planting, picking up litter, etc.). I’ve done a week-long leadership training program as an FCCLA regional officer and we learned about things like professional behavior, public speaking, people skills, teamwork, promoting a cause, leading others, etc. I’d imagine BoA would be similar but probably more in-depth and with more information about nonprofits and serving the community.

Another question, during the 7 weeks of the local internship, what are the hours? Do we commute from home? Do we have weekends off? Will we be able to see our friends from back home?

Thank you Meditrina! I am anxiously waiting, and reading all of these other regions getting their acceptances and rejections does not make me any more patient. Please post something when you find out. You are the first person I have heard from that applied in the Portland area do you know how competitive it is?
