Does getting a BOP email have a strong correlation with admission or do all people that qualify for it get it? I’m kind of upset that people with Sat English scores >620 aren’t eligible for it.
^^ yes, it’s really stressful because there’s not much information on the program online, and we don’t know if receiving an interview is required to be accepted to the program. If it is, then that may mean the worse and that’s so nerve-racking
3 PM on Friday for me then (PST)… yikes
As we get closer to decisions I just want to say you all are such warm, bright, enthusiastic ladies and I hope you’re all accepted because Barnard will be a better place with all of you a part of it
This feels so surreal, like, I’ve spent months worrying about this, we’ve all spent months, and it’s in 85.7 hours (did I make a countdown? yes. )
i am sooo nervous-- barnard is my top school and ive imagined myself there for months :-SS
I just realized a stupid grammar error I made on my Barnard supplement. rip, probably not getting in
Is anybody else’s portal showing their FAFSA ‘received’ date as today? I turned my mine in January, but for some reason, the received date is showing today’s date (3/19/2019)
do you know if the date was previously marked as something else? or was this your first time checking
@cloudy1001 The previous date was the date from January when I turned it in…around the 14th or so.
Mine shows 3/12…idk probably nothing.
this is too nerve-wrecking to dwell on. who did u ladies write ur conversation with a woman essay on?
I wrote on Lucretia Garfield! I thought my Barnard essays were my strongest of any school’s. Shame it prolly won’t pay off
I wrote mine on Ophelia from Hamlet, arguing that she was the most interesting character in the play but barely got the time of day since she was a woman in Shakespeare’s time. I loved my essays for Barnard, hoping they pay off!
@SuperBigMusicLover it might be a good sign. Maybe they’re working on financial aid packages
DD wrote Sophia Tolstoy. A very compelling story I feel.
I’ve said this before, but I did mulan, and I talked about her doing what she believed she had to, and how I believe change has to come for the planet but I don’t know what step to take or how to have a bigger impact and I want her help.
I wrote mine about Naomi Osaka the tennis player who defeated Serena Williams by not cracking under pressure, then staying humble after the win. Really wrote from the heart because she is such an inspiration to me
@Selenarahman Maybe. I just thought that it was a bit weird to see it change!
I wrote my supplement on Wendy Testaburger and how I admire and mirror her progressive views on inclusion despite the resistance of her peers
Dorothy Fields! She was a prolific songwriter but largely unrecognized for her work.
