Barnard Dorms?

During Admitted Student's Weekend I stayed in a Brooks quad. There were two bedrooms and a common area between the two rooms with desks. The bathrooms are on the floor, and I think there is a kitchenette, although I didn't see it. I did however see laundry facilities. Which I believe consisted of two washers and two dryers. My hostess actually had to run off to get her laundry out of the dryer before someone moved it, lol.

There are definitely laundry facilities in Brooks (and all the quad dorms). If you check the Res Life section of the Barnard website, there is actually quite a bit of info on each of the dorms there.

Best of luck to you!

there are kitchens and lounges on each floor.. i dont think all of them necessarily include ovens, but you can definitely find some if you need it. they may not actually be located in brooks, but the quad hallway goes all the way around, and a washing machine in reid might end up being closer to your room to a machine on the other end of brooks.

thanks everyone! so in terms of having someone over, the common room isnt really that much of an advantage?

AashK - a Brooks quad suite is one room with enough space for four desks and a large closet, and a small double on each side. No bathroom or kitchenette (I wish!)

The common room does absolutely nothing in terms of having people over. I would never put someone on this floor - it's really gross. The one thing you might want to know about the quad suite is that - although you and your 3 friends would be together, there isn't much floor space. People in Reid/Sulz usually have beds against their walls, with a nice rug and sitting space in between. We have none of that. When I have friends over in my room, they have to sit on my bed, since there is no where else for them to be.

There is one washer and two dryers on the end of each Brooks Hall, and a laundy room with two washers and two dryers off of the Sulzberger elevators. Even though we have a our little laundry "area" on the Brooks hall, I usually find myself going to the laundry room. Most of the time I don't even do laundry on my floor, since it's hard to find available machines.
