I’m a junior thinking about applying to Barnard next year but I’m worried about the condition of the dorms. Are there are any renovation plans in the near future or alternative housing options?
I’m a current freshman and the ceiling literally collapsed on my roommate so the condition is ~dangerous~

Were freshmen on campus in Spring? In the Quad?
Generally, Barnard and Columbia own several buildings, or rent floors, along
Broadway and its side street, and along Morningside.
Of course, most are all long-established city blocks, requiring steady upkeep and renovation from time to time - like any NYC apartment. I haven’t heard of any ceiling “collapses” or similar structural issues - wonder what the extent had been.
