Barnard Waitlist 2025

i sent you the reddits!

Hey guys! Congrats to all who heard back, and good luck to those who didnā€™t. <3 I am also hoping to hear back soon, but I applied for aid so Iā€™m not too sure about that. :disappointed: Regardless, I am from FL and sent my LOCI to my ao (Nicole Molina) 9 days ago but never received a responseā€¦ Iā€™m not sure how to take that. Does anyone else have the same ao? Itā€™s just so stressful, Iā€™m sure we all can relate. Barnard has been my top school for so long, and it feels like Iā€™m going through all the hope and disappointment of admissions day all over. Shoutout to my fellow aid applicants btw, LOL.

I have Nicole Molina as my AO too. I sent her the LOCI, never got a reply. I asked my counselor to call them for me, they never picked up the phone despite my counselor attempting more than 5 times at different times of the day. My counselor tried leaving a message but they never reached back. So my counselor tried emailing her, no reply either.

I still see my waitlist letter, unfortunately. Not sure your situation, but it def sounds like you must have gotten off the list! If so, CONGRATS! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

SAME! Never got a response eitherā€¦ Itā€™s so nerve-racking.

Has anyone EVER gotten off the waitlist as an aid applicant? Lolā€¦ is it truly just a straight rejection?? That sucks and I wonder why they waitlist financial aid applicants in the first placeā€¦

Admission and aid are separate at Barnard - a need blind school for US applicants. (need aware for international) You were put on the waitlist because you are a qualified student - they would not have known about your financial need at this time.

BUT - when taking candidates off the waitlist, admissions will now know financial need and may/will take into consideration whom to pull off the waitlist using this as one criteria. Historically, it is harder to get off waitlists at most colleges if you need financial aid - not impossible - especially if students granted financial aid in the RD round decline admission and the aid budget has not been used.

Waitlist is all about filling in areas to reflect institutional priorities for the class.
