<p>First practice test I got a 730... Is that good? How does Barron's compare to the real thing?? Please some commentary would be great.</p>
<p>Don’t trust Barron’s!I scored around 780 on all its test and received my 640 yesterday!Barron’s provides much more calculating questions rather than the real thing which has more theory ones.</p>
<p>Thats really good for Barrons! I got around that for Barrons, around 780s for Princeton, and I got a 800 on the actual Nov Chem SATII. If your also using Barrons as a prep book, just know that it gives a lot of unnecessary info. That unecessary info sometimes comes in handy for a select few ‘weird’ questions on the actual test, but overall, its up to you to subjectively decide what material in barrons is unnecessary (ex: just learn the basic rules and steps for determining oxidation numbers, and ignore barrons’ huge table of elements+oxidation numbers – its unnecessary and would be a pain to memorize)</p>
<p>Thanks! Yeah I just learned the basic rules. I’m having a bit of trouble with equilibrium…I’m self-studying btw…but besides that I should be good 
Oh and textures and colors of elements/compounds haha. We’ll see how it goes December 5!</p>
<p>Does the barrons book have like a chart or list of the colors and textures of everything u need to know on the test?</p>

<p>Barron’s is overall a great book. Just don’t rely on its tests for an accurate representation of the real thing.</p>

<p>barrons is a good review if you actually know the stuff. i recommend taking the CB chem test as well, a few days/week before your test.</p>

<p>Barron’s definitely a choice for anyone who has the time to invest. Chem for Barron’s was a shockingly thick book for me, littering with so much info I had to reread some of it twice. spent about 2 weeks on that book before the test. got 650 on the practice. 690 on the real thing.</p>
<p>I made flashcards and they have helped tremendously. Everybody here should seriously consider using them. I made flashcards on all the info I deemed important in Barron’s and have been studying the flashcards for about a week. SO HELPFUL.</p>
