I just did the first few questions on a practice exam in Barron's with almost all of them being right. These questions are the ones that are like just scale identification and cord identification and I got almost all of them right just by instinct. After about question 15 I got lost in the terminology and had to stop. So my main questions are: Are the questions in Barron's practice test the same level as the AP exam? Does the aural section of the exam get much harder than the first few questions given that I learn the terminology? and Is Barron's alone going to be able to get me through this with little other background. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Barrons does give you a really comprehensive review. Make sure you study part writing though. It’s the easiest way to get a lit if points quickly. If you have perfect pitch, after learning the terminology, you can basically breeze through the test. If not (like me), you will most likely have to also work on dictations.

I felt as thought the Barron’s was spot-on to the test. My teacher actually began teaching from the crambook the second half of the year to review and I felt well prepared after it.
