I have heard that the tests in the Barrons SAT I and SAT II test books are more difficult than the actual tests? Is this true?

I am using Barron's SAT math workbook, its harder than the actual test.

This is definitely true for Math 2C. I remember taking the Barron's tests and getting 650s and not being able to finish, but the real test was much simpler and I was able to finish it. I would not recommend Barron's for the 2C because there were topics in the book that weren't on the test.

For the SAT1, I thought that Barron's was okay. The level of difficulty was about the same, maybe a little harder. But I think that's good, because you usually do better on practice tests than on the real thing anyway.

Interesting. I actually do far worse on practice tests than on the real ones most of the time.

This is super late, but I’m using Barron’s right now for Math level 2, and there are questions in it that I can’t even find on the internet or in other test prep books. And I think to myself, at least I can know a little more than I should. :)

Agree with Barron’s book for Math Level 2 being harder than the actual test. I never got a 700 on the practice tests, yet I got a full score on the actual test. It’s possible that Barron’s tests are harder in general.
