Baseball at Vassar?

Is anyone out there familiar with the current baseball program at Vassar? From looking at the records over the last several years, it looks like they had strong records a few years ago then changed coaches and did a little worse. Then the last three or four years they changed coaches again and have only won a few games (6 or 7) each of the last three or four years. Is there a problem with the current coaching staff? Is there prospect for improvement? Thanks much for any insight.

I don't know about the coaching but the new field, dugouts and lighting for night games is just amazing.

Thanks. Yes, I read about the new field on the website, and there is a team member who is doing a blog throughout the year that started in early September, and he has discussed it and some promising new freshmen who joined the team this year...maybe as a result of the new facilities. We are going to try to reach some team members to find out more specifically about the coach.

I've met the head coach on a few occasions. Relatively new as head coach (3rd year?). Really nice guy but I think (and hope) he will work this team hard to get them ready for the season. At least, that's what the off-season workout schedule suggests. They are building and seem to have recruited some solid players this year...in addition to solid returning players. My son is one of the freshman, so I'm both biased and optimistic. We met quite a few D3 coaches along the way. He was invited to overnights at different schools. In the end, he wanted to play for the Vassar coach. And, you can't beat the education. He loves his profs, classes, and the school. Profs are extremely accessible, even to freshman. Any more specific Q's, let me know.

Hi vmom - thanks so much for your input. I sent you a private message with more information about our concerns/questions, so hopefully you may be able to help us out a little more with that. Thanks again!
