I am new to the potential of NMS, and I keep seeing sites that say “unless you are a NMS”.
Is there a resource for who gives the NMS, how much they award, and if it is automatic? DD2 has done well (although not national merit level) on some informal testing, but is scheduled to take the PSAT in the Fall as a Junior. Just wondering - seems like a big long shot to me.
I believe the National Merit Foundation gives a small scholarship of $2500. The rest are institution based. some schools will give full tuition, other half tuition. These are sometimes automatic, sometimes competitive. There is a list of these schools somewhere here on CC.
