I’m taking my CFA soon, and was wondering if there is a certain technique to follow.

I am very confident in all my other events, but the BB throw is going to hurt my score. I can’t seem to get over 45 feet. Which for being able to do pullups and pushups, my range should be a lot more than that.

I actually just came in from practicing the BB throw, and got two good throws (relatively speaking) of about 55 feet, but I don’t know how I did it.

I want to be able to reach the “minimum” of 69 feet, but with my technique, my score won’t be high enough.

Twist your torso, keep your knees firm on the ground, dont lose your grip on the ball, and throw it when you’re ready.

Anything for the arm? Should my arm be fully extended or at 60 degrees or 45?

When should I release the ball? At the top of the swing, or at a 45 degree angle from the ground in front of me (135 degrees from my feet)?

If you have ever played tennis or volleyball, then throw it like you would if you were serving. So I guess release it at the top of the swing with your arm slightly out in front of you

Just got done practicing.

Works well. If I lean back and twist while holding myself there, put my left arm out, and keep the right almost straight, I’m getting about 61 feet.

Thanks USAFA10s.

Also, it might help practicing with something smaller and getting comfortable with it and then moving up. I played soccer so I was comfortable with that and that just led to a smooth transition with a basketball.
