My son is selling the bass he played from his senior year in high school through his undergraduate years. He auditioned and played in a top bass studio, summer festivals - MAW and TMC - and several other awesome orchestras and ensembles. He has recently purchased a professional bass for graduate school, so he is selling the one he has been using for the past 5 years. This bass has served him very, very well as he has grown as a bassist.

Two reasons for my post:

I want to offer this bass for sale first here - to any student who might be in a position of looking for a great college level bass. I'm especially grateful to this forum for giving me, as a parent, the behind the scenes place to read up on the path he had mapped out for himself. It has often been a place for me to learn and confirm that my son knows what the heck he is doing after all!

Also, I want to encourage anyone who is making the decision "to buy or not to buy" an upgrade instrument for a very deserving high school player with upcoming college auditions. Looking back, it made all the difference to eliminate the limitations and difficulties of his previous instrument. We were a very skeptical about the necessity of buying it at first, but we listened to his mentors/instructors. It was essential to do it BEFORE college auditions. I now understand the difference it made. No matter how well he played or how much potential he had, the instrument had to be easily playable, beautifully and powerfully express what he played to even be competitive. This bass was so much easier to play, and the sound was clear, powerful, and beautiful.

If anyone is thinking of upgrading for college, this might be one to consider. PM me and I will send details.
