*****Bates College Class of 2020 ED and RD Discussions*****

what about you

I got waitlisted

Yeah. Berkeley @snow30

@sara-alq I’m sorry to hear that. Wish you all the best.

I got only one acceptance from Conn with nearly a full ride.

Rejected as well.

Are you going to Conn then?

@sara-alq Yes!

What is your facebook name? we could chat there if you want

I will send it to you in a private message.

Accepted

congrats @undergroundking ! can you share your stats with us?

Rejected. Oh well. I did really like Bates. So far I’ve been rejected from Vassar (ED2), Colby, and Bates. Waiting to hear back from Skidmore and UMass. Good luck everyone

After two deferrals from Bates(ED1) and Swarthmore (ED2), four rejections, 2 waitlists, and a long wait, I was accepted to Bates RD!

@Seare825 Congrats!!! That sounds like a trying experience.

Waitlisted. I expected rejection so waitlist is not too bad especially since I got into Hamilton. Now decisions decisions.

Congratulations @Seare825 ! Can you share your stats?
I’m trying to see the negatives in my application. I got rejected. Your road seems like hard one, I’m genuinely happy you got in after so many disapppointments!

where did you guys find the link to the login to get admission decisions

Thank you so much @andover2016 and @FaithElamin! It was really trying it but it convinced me that Bates is the college for me.

@FaithElamin, in terms of stats, here are mine:

GPA: Unweighted GPA - 3.32 (out of 4.0)

Weighted GPA - 3.96 (out of 5.0)

Top Quarter (23/100) at an extremely competitive Magnet School in my city, but this was my main weak point.

SAT: Superscore

  • CR: 730
  • Math: 660
  • Writing: 550
  • Composite: 1940

Highest Single Sitting:

  • CR: 630
  • Math: 660
  • Writing: 550
  • Composite: 1840

SAT Subject Tests:

620 in Chemistry
630 in Literature
570 in US History

PSAT: 184 in Junior Year.

I attended the Prologue to Bates fly-in, I had a great interview, a great essay, and good ECs.

Honestly, I feel like the fly-in and interview was what made my acceptance. The process is extremely holistic and so the intangibles (essay, interview, recs, supplements) really MADE the difference.

@Seare825 Congrats!! Did you get any follow up email or contact from Bates?
