I've been looking at Bates College lately, and I feel that in terms of academics at least, it's a good match for me. I saw that they have a biological chemistry major, which I haven't seen at other schools, and seems interesting for a prospective pre-medder. I don't know how Bates works with research, and I'm concerned it might be too liberal-artsy. Does anyone know how Bates' science program is, how the school is respected, or if the atmosphere is one not really geared for science students?

Thanks!
