If this thread doesn’t have a single comment in the next day I’m going to be really, really, really, really ****ed of. So let’s comment shall, we.

Class of 2016! Go Bobcats!

You should go to the Bates Class of 2016 Facebook page. I’m sure it’s much more lively if it’s anything like the Class of 2015 FB page last year. I don’t think Bates kids post much, if at all, on CC.

I’m entering Bates in the fall as a freshman and I’m so excited! I’m from Long Island, NY. For Aesop, my top two choices were Mahasooc 1 and Rangeley 1. And for dorms, I put that I want a low-chem dorm so hopefully I get 280 College Street or Rand. What about everyone else?

Also, I was wondering what I should bring too Bates? Like what type of clothing will I need for the winter, and should I bring my own bike and skiis or can they be rented there?

Thanks Pathetichopeful for starting this.

Oh, and the class of 2016 fb group is dead too.

Aw, thanks for commenting you guys. I do understand that there is a FB Group (I’m actually on it), but I thought that CC would make a good resouce for personal needs and concerns when it comes to Bates. And like comeonups said, it doesn’ seem that much “alive” either.

I’m from Miami, Florida and I really haven’t decided on what AESOP I want yet, but I’m leaning towards Amphibious (f.y.i. just wanted anyone else to know that it’s $275 to attend AESOP, I didn’t really know there was a cost to participate until recently but they do offer aid for anyone who needs it on a limited basis.

I’m having a little trouble with dorms myself. I actually want Chem, All First Year, and Dorm so possibly Parker? Anyone have any knowledge about great and terrible housing? 280 sounds really nice (it’s the new dorm right?).

Bates has a “What To Bring” List on their website, but this has also been one of my major concerns. I really don’t know what type of clothing to buy for Maine weather, but I’d definitely say boots, a heavy jacket, sweaters, etc are a good start. If anyone has any opinions on this topic feel free to answer.

HI all My D is attending Bates and I think she has not transitioned from the last days of high school, before making all these college decisions. I am sure she will be more involved when she grad. HS on June 21. I know she preferred lo chem, 280 and Rand and Parker as her 3rd choice, but I am pretty sure Parker is multi grades. Please don’t despair Pathetic Helpful, you will have plenty of fellow batsies to talk with.
