Hey do the bathrooms have hair dryer's in them or do we need to bring our own? Also do the dorm rooms already have chairs for the desks or do we need to bring our own for those as well?

Chairs are provided, hair dryers are not.

Some people bring their own chairs, but I don't think it's necessary to do so.

Agreed on the chairs. However, I would recommend a cushion to place on the chair- makes it much more comfortable!

I brought my own chair (the chairs they provide are weird, rocking-chair type). It was a pain in the ass getting it back home and finding a place to keep the provided chair (I managed to shove it inside the dinky sliding door closet).

I went to Costco today, and was really tempted to bring home a really sweet chair, but I was kinda worried about where to put the USC-provided chair...

if you put your bed high enough, you can put the chair underneath and keep it for:

guests
lady guests
parties
musical chairs
making forts
a step-stool for a bed that's high enough to keep a chair under in the first place

yeah, it's been done, but the normal chairs are more than good enough and save you the trouble of dealing with the spare chair. you'll get used to the idea that you won't fall over when you rock back in it. i've been stuck in the chair for hours at a time without any real discomfort. the only problem with them is that the armrests (if your particular chair has them) fit very snuggly under the desk, and might crush your fingers if you're not paying attention when you scoot in.
