BB Practice Test #3 Questions

Math:
Sec 2 #3, 17, 20
Sec 4 #5, 6, 8, 17
Sec 8 #6, 7, 9, 15, 16

Reading:
Sec 3 #19, 23, 24

Also, how many should I aim to get wrong to get at least a 700 for each section. Thanks for your help.

Anybody? Your help will be much appreciated!

Uh, can you post the questions? I'm too lazy to get my book :). (btw, there have been many math questions answered in the stickied thread, so check there first if you haven't already).

Math:
Sec 2 #3: 4 x 3 = 12. red can choose 4 sizes, white can choose 4 sizes, blue can choose 4 sizes.
#17: The equation of line L is y=(1/4)x + k (since they tell us it is perpendicular). The slope is 1/4 obviously and they tell use it passes through the point (0,0) and (t,t+1), and we want to find T.
slope = slope of the two points since they're on the line.
(1/4) = (t+1)/(t) Solving for T gets you (-4/3)
#20: Dividing 15 by 4, 6, 12 gives you a remainder of 3, so the answer is three.

Section 4 #5: Find the base and height of the triangle. 5k-2k=3k, and the height is 4 (6-2). (1/2)bh=18, plug in numbers, 6k=18, k=3.
#6: 10(m^2)(k^-1)=100m Solve for m^-1. the 10 and 100 cancel to make it (m^2)(k^-1)=10m. Divide by 10 and (m^2) on each side, and you should get (k^-1)/10, which is equivalent to 1/10k, answer D.
#8: Simply look at the graph, which y coordinate is the same as the y cooridnate for xcoord 3? x=-1 is an answer.
#17: They are equal intervals so the sqrt(x) mark is at 2/3.
sqrt(x)=2/3, x=4/9
Sorry i'm getting lazy now :P Maybe i'll do the rest later

Actually, I just need help with number 6 in section 8 now. =]

6 sec 8: the greatest change between consecutive years was between 1984, 1985, about a 1 dollar difference 4.75-3.75 ish.

That is number 5, but thanks for the answer. Can anybody help with number 6 in section 8?

^ it asks g(k) = 1 so whatever k is, the result or y will be 1. Look at the graph and you see that k must be -1<k<1

The answer is -0.5. B
