23. E
24. A

I put:
23. D
24. D

Can anyone explain why my answers are wrong?

Thanks! :)

Google “sat book owners area.” There, you can get answer explanations for the correct and wrong answers for every test in the BB. But if you still don’t understand, I don’t mind helping you.

That’s why I posted here lol

But yeah, thanks for offering help! I definitely need it :(

D is wrong because the author talks about those people with a lot of interest; the author is not indifferent because the author really does scruntinize those people’s state of mind towards art. E is right because the author is speaking negatively of those people who don’t appreciate art’s simple aesthetic qualities, hence the “condescending tolerant.”

D is wrong because there is no support in the passage whatsoever about society and morality. Yes, this answer sounds good, but keep in mind that you have to find a line in the passage that supports it. A is correct because the author says that “preoccupation with the human content…is…incompatible with aesthetic enjoyment”(line 45-47). that statement implies that the author believes appreciation with the aesthetic elements is what makes a good work of art.

Hope this helps :)

Can you give some line example to show his condescending tone? I’m seriously rereading it and I just can’t sense that orb he’s giving off?

24.D I SEE IT! THANK YOU MUCHOO! :)

It’s difficult to find an appropriate line because tone questions are more general than specific. You just have to read the passage and try to figure out how the author feels. Well, the author sounds condescending because he or she sort of treats people who look at art based on human content as an entity that can be examined closely. Moreover, I think the last paragraph fits the answer because those people and the author differ in opinions…? I don’t know how to explain this…so I hope I clarified it a bit more for you. If all else fails, go with the process of elimination, which is easy in this case :)
