Would do 2 modern romance languages and Economics at BC.
and 2 languages plus the School of Commerce at UVa. Don't know what I want to do but I've been looking at the prospect of stock brokerage/investments at a European bank (RBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche bank). I know UVa has a better business program but there is no guarantee that I would be accepted into it and the Honors program at BC would allow to to gain extremely close ties (1-on-1 access) with the best professors at the school.
One of the student guides that talked to us when I visited BC said that he had just accepted an analyst position at Bear Sternes with a degree in Economics, so banking is definitely possible from BC.

I don't really know what you mean by "would do 2 modern romance languages." At UVa you can double major, or major and minor. Also, if you're starting fresh in a language, you need to take the 101-202 sequence before you start the 30 creditish major in a language. Once you're in the comm school you'll have a tough time doing that. 2 languages plus comm school would be impossible.

no, at UVa you can only major, d-major, d-major and minor, or major and minor.

i guess technically you could double major and minor in a language, but i don't think you could really do that successfully in the comm school and with 2 languages.

As I said before, if you're starting fresh in a language, a minor is practically a major. You have to take the 101-202 course sequence (which is 14 credits) plus an addition 18 or so credits--so 32 credits.

Oh wow, I suppose the language segment of my college education will be a major in Italian (I'll place out any of the basic requirements) and a few elective courses in French (which I would start fresh from). But aside from that, which school is a better choice the close attention of the Honors program at BC or UVa?

Well, UVa is a better school than BC if thats what you're asking. But you should visit. If you want to be a subway ride away from a major city, then UVa isn't the place to attend. If you take that out of the equation--then I would definately recommend UVa over BC.

As for the "personal" thing with the BC honors program vs. UVa. UVa's romance language departments are excellent. The Italian department is EXTREMELY tiny, so you'll get plenty of attention. I've never heard of anyone complain about not receiving attention in the comm school either.
