First off I just want to say that Boston College is by far my #1 choice. I've visited twice and I absolutely love it. I saw that you already said that you would respond to any questions about whether or not someone had a good chance of getting but I had a similar kind of question. I was wondering what you thought was the best way to let BC know how much I would most definitely go there and excel if I'm given the chance. Thanks so much!

Hey Dani, I'm a BC student too and since kesmit isn't answering, I'll give you my $0.02.

First of all if BC is your first choice, I'd apply early since that gives the adcom the message that you're serious about coming here (and it's non-binding if you do get in). Besides that, it's all in the essay. My advice would be to match your specific interests with BC's specific strengths, and show that you've done your research. If you've visited the campus twice already, you'll have many personal impressions to draw from.

I think the last thing an adcom member wants to read is how an applicant loves BC because it's "such a beautiful campus," "the perfect size," "the best location," "a great town," etc. All those things are pretty generic and don't say anything about the applicant.
