Can anyone give me feedback on each school from a non-academic perspective?
I'm curious about:
1. School spirit, enthusiasm, participation in the school as a whole and in athletics. Do kids go to the games and support the teams?
2. Proximity to town, restaurants, pharmacy, Target -- how easy to get there w/o car?
3. Greek scene - do fraternities live in chapter houses or do they live among all of the other students?
4. Any neat traditions or annual events that the kids get really excited about?
5. Anything else you think is special about the school.

I know that Villanova has a ton of school spirit. When I visited it seemed like there was a lot happening on campus, and it’s close to Philly, although I’m not sure how easy it is to get to restaurants and stuff without a car.

Thanks Claire. We’ve visited Villanova and felt the same thing. We didn’t have much chance to explore the area but it didn’t seem as if there were many places to walk to if you want a change of scenery or break from campus food. I know they talk about the train taking you up and down the main line but how practical is it? Does it run frequently?

Does anyone have any sense about school spirit at Fordham? I read somewhere that it is somewhat of a commuter/suitcase school. Any insights?
