BC vs BU vs NYU

For poly-sci or economics. All CAS. BC costs 27k, BU costs 18k, and NYU 39k (eek.) In terms of faculty, students, internships/jobs after graduation, and reputation, which would you choose?

Bump

BC or NYU. They are both comparable, so just got with BC and save 50 grand in the long run.

I’d say that BC has the best mix of having a good package (assuming it is affordable to your family) and being a great school.

BU. Save $36,000 over BC and $88,000 over NYU.

Okay I suppose disregarding money now, which would you choose?

Well, if money was no concern, I would choose NYU for location alone. But for the vast majority of folks, money IS a concern and cannot be ignored. Under no circumstances would I pay $88,000 more to go to NYU over BU or BC. Unless your family is very wealthy, that is just foolish.

Regarding BU/BC… i think they are both on roughly the same level reputation wise… but they are very different. BC is almost suburban, smaller, preppier, Roman Catholic, more traditional school spirit… BU is more urban, cosmopolitan, much larger, with a spread out campus. There is no right or wrong answer… different folks will have different preferences and no one here can tell YOU what YOU like most.

@harvardandberkeley‌ what exactly do you mean by location? Opportunities?
