BCC to UW. Chances?

Hi everyone, I was planning on submitting my transfer app for autumn 2013 fairly soon.
Any opinions/evaluations are welcome, whatever you may have to say, odds are that I will value and appreciate it.

I went through high school on autopilot. I had all the opportunities, just failed to capitalize on any of them. I halfheartedly applied to UW as a freshman, got waitlisted (my GPA was probably a big factor, along with the terrible essay I wrote), and planned to go to WSU. At the last moment I decided I really had to get myself together. I withdrew last moment, enrolled at BC, and started trying to figure my life out. After floating along for a while and working my dead end job, I began to realize how many doors remain closed to those without the luxury of a higher education. In that respect, I feel like living on my own and actually having to pay for my own things was exactly what I needed to put things in perspective. In retrospect, I was a giant brat who somehow managed to stay completely oblivious to the world around him for eighteen years. At this point, I have decided I want to major in economics and end up with an MBA. I really feel like I could benefit from a much more immersive intellectual environment. In no way do I expect an acceptance for winter quarter, It would be completely understandable on UWs part. If that were to be the case, I would have no problem working my way up to an AA, then getting the hell out :) I have been working full time since high school ended to pay rent and tuition, but if I were to transfer I hope to make use of loans and scholarships so I can spend more of my time on my education and maybe some internships.

I recently found an award I received, but didn't put on my application as a freshman

Work Experience - I have had 7 jobs, but I think it would be a better idea to only list 3

BC

The state of Wa has a requirement to accept a certain percentage of students from community college. With the belief that those who are financially burdened should not be hurt. Call UW and ask what that specific percent is, however you’ll probably get in because I’m pretty sure it’s a high percentage.

UW specifically says on their site that transfer priority is for those with an Associate’s and 90 transferable credits. Spots for those with fewer are limited and competition will be a major factor. Honestly, I’d suggest getting your basic math, english, and humanities classes out of the way at BC so you don’t end up with a boatload of debt. The online classes they offer make working full time and going to school much easier (trust me, i did 20 hours while working full time last winter, it can be done). Plus, calculus is calculus. Would you rather take with thirty other people or three hundred, and pay more to boot?
