I met with Zeb Ashton - the admissions counselor for my region- and he said that subject tests are absolutely not required or recommended or anything. He made it seem like it’s possible to get in without them. I took Spanish and Math and scored in the 600s and he said it should be a 700 to be worth submitting so I wasn’t going to submit. Honest opinions please!! (also how to emotionally handle not getting into top choice school- i love this school so much it’s terrible i’m so attached) thanks
Vanderbilt does not require them nor do they strongly encourage like some other elite schools. They state that some students do send them. If you look at past acceptance threads not all students submit them.
@oonaquinn I’m also in the same plight as you! I didn’t submit any subject test. I emailed my counselor and she emphasized that they are “NOT REQUIRED.”
If the scores are in the 600s, it’s ok to not send them.
I didnt send any to Vanderbilt as well, you should be fine!
I’m a current Vanderbilt student, and I did not submit subject test scores.
My son did not submit any SAT scores. He received a CV scholarship with just ACT scores… no interview either. Based on our experience, I think the SAT subject scores are not necessary.
Just got accepted yesterday, and nope. Didn’t even take them.
