just kidding, just kidding :)

But really, the Twins would be a team to watch out for if we had any kind of starting pitching. We have no one decent which is a shame cause we have some of the best batters in the league. Our big three of Mauer, Morneau, and Cuddyer are batting well over .300. And Joe Nathan is a stud and one of the best closers in the game. But our starting pitching sucks…

Not when I fund my friends’ political campaigns, get them elected, and have them pass tort reform.

Then when I beat yo a.ss in court, you’ll be paying all my legal fees. Better think twice about sueing then, eh.

And the easiest division ever.

MinnesotaTwins a) you guys will never make it to the World Series keep dreaming and

b) As an Econ and Math major (hypothetically) I am more likely to get my ass an Analyst’s job at Goldman than you are at your business school

The twins should trade for Kobe Bryant.

Minnesota is never going to win anything the last time they won something was when the lakers were still their back in the day were jesus christ and mohammed would play checkers( not really 1955 and they left in 1960). I dont really follow baseball but " I Love LA"

back to topic. You know how many business majors their are? Every one you talk to is either 3 things Pre Med, Business, and Psyc. Like mcgoogly said people with diferent majors that can relate have a better chances cause they are more diversed and are more useful take an econ major They fill the place of a business major and a polisci at times.

Dude, I’m not aiming for IB. I have zero to none chance at getting an analyst position at a BB and I know it.

Real Estate’s more my thing, and the large banks on Wall Street have HUGE real estate investment and development operations. And my school (UW Madison) just happens to be number two in the country in Real Estate (behind only Penn)with an extremely large alumni network.

And umm, the Twins won the World Series’ in 1987 and 91.

Besides, I think you’re talking about basketball or something. I don’t give a crap about basketball. In Minnesota, it’s all hockey all day.

Oh…so… what was all that talk about working for a finance company for a few years and making contacts or whatever? Do you mean a hedge fun or something or what? I didn’t really think about it, but don’t the big bulge bracket IB firms run most real estate investment on a large scale?

Haha it’s not surprising that someone with a ron paul username would abhor philosophy.

I don’t understand why people rip on the major though. Is it just because it isn’t immediately useful? It can be very difficult and very abstract–some philosophical texts are really technical. The major requires hella reasoning and analytical skill and is verbal-oriented as well. For this reason, law school admissions favor philosophy majors over any other majors.

^but when you think of the average student majoring in philosophy you just think of a pothead who smokes up before a paper to think philosophically. People also don’t really know what philosophy is.

^ haha im pretty sure that’s not true

smoking up isn’t going to help you develop a cogent argument

Some pretty smart people I know major in Philosophy. That still doesn’t change stereotypes.

well yeah, sure, i guess–people rip on philosophy because they don’t know much about the subject beyond that one scene in animal house. it certainly isn’t a well-founded reason to trash the subject though.

This is a thread on majors you don’t respect. There wasn’t supposed to be any debate.

^^ I concur. It’s opinion, not fact.
You might as well get into an disagreement everytime somebody says they dislike your favorite color.

Navy Blue >>>>>>>>> Dark Blue.

Cyan is better than all.

No it’s not. Cyan only cares about money and isn’t into saving the world like Navy Blue.

Navy Blue thinks has an insecurity problem. Cyan will make money in the long run and be happy doing it.

your undergraduate major doesn’t matter much. I know some1 who majored in art and now works at a major computer company…and many similar stories
