I got into Bioeng. at UPenn and BME at Northwestern. How do these two compare in terms of quality/ranking, emphasis (research/industry), and location/quality of life?

(I thought RD decisions are not out yet.)

In reputation both are top 10 programs. But I'd say Penn > NU as a whole.

In my opinion, Penn is better than Northwestern both in BE and as a whole.

UPenn is higher ranked in BME/BE. But in most other engineering disciplines, NU is better ranked.

Everything academically equal with these two. Better social environment at NU. Evanston is really close to downtown Chicago. Though Philly has cheesesteaks.

Really comes down to: do you want to spend four years on the East Coast, or in the Midwest?
