buy a box fan, they sell for about 20$, and put it in your window with it open. Better than any other solution. I had one at a summer camp, and my room was the coolest by far compared to others with multiple small fans, even those rotating ionic breeze things.

I spent a lot of time at Rutgers during the summer so it is reasonably the same thing as Princeton. Basically my roommate and I had 7 fans in the room. Two box fans by our windows, and our windows opened out also. Then two rotating fans further into the room and set up pretty high. Then We had two other fans near the door rotating also. Lastly my roommate had a personal fan on his desk just focused on him. Otherwise, we kept them going full blast during the day with everything including the door open to get a breeze going and at night turned it down a bit and just tried to survive.

ok, I know you posted this in the collegelife too, but I read here that you'll be at Princeton.

I spent a summer at Princeton (before senior year of HS) and it was too hot. We were sweating in our room during the day, and we had a big rotating fan in our room at night. I think my roommate just left it there when we moved out. I bought lots of drinks from the bookstore... it has a food place in it.

Heat rises. So explain your sensitivities and request a ground floor dorm room. There can be exceptions, but as a general rule, the higher the floor the hotter the room.
