Beautiful campuses in great locations

Over 11,000 lakes in Michigan as well. :-)

Boston College has a very attractive campus in a nice wealthy suburban Boston setting. Holy Cross’ campus is spectacular but it is located near an industrial area of Worcester. Flagler is sumptuous being located in quanit St Augustine and a former turn of the century luxuryt hotel but not of the same academic caliber as BC or HS.
Pepperdine has an amazing seaside location but the campus itself was rather modern and not particularly interesting.

UNC-Chapel Hill. Absolutely gorgeous, particularly in the spring. And there are lakes nearby, I go fishing all the time.

how has duke not been mentioned yet? it’s gorgeoussssss. ;_;

Because Duke is located in one of the worst cities in the state of North Carolina. Durham is terrible.

but from what I’ve heard Durham isn’t exactly the greatest city to be in

I’m not sure of your preference for weather, but the University of Vermont is located in downton Burlington, Vermont, which is also a few blocks from Lake Champlain, a very beautiful lake that has the NY mountains in the background. I was there this weekend for the Jazz Festival and saw sail boats on the lake and a very active downtown. Burlington enjoys all four seasons thoroughly, so if you like downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and hiking, you can enjoy the outdoors all year round. Good luck in your search.

Mainly… ( speaking of great locations, not good or okay)

University of California- Los Angeles
Arizona State University
University of Pennslyvania

Forgot to mention the University of South Carolina (sorry Pierre). The campus is beautiful, lots of old buildings and dogwoods and the like. Columbia is a pretty neat place to go to college as well.

To the OP, I am sure you had this on your mind before you asked the question:

[Best Western InnTowner](http://www.inntowner.com/slide_show/page2.htm)

UW -Madison starts from the center to the left.

haha no problem, I’ve heard that USC is beautiful too
speaking of SC, College of Charleston is in a great location also!

but obviously not as beautiful as Clemson  jk

Never been to Clemson, but I heard that their fraternity houses are located on a lake. Made me intensely jealous haha.

Davidson, Princeton, William & Mary, Rice, Amherst

princeton of course. it’s in a town that is kind of small but it’s only 2 hours from new york so u can go there if u get really bored

The best campus environment in the nation and possibly the world is Tulane University, closely followed by whatever your favorite school is.

When your I factored universities as best location
University of Pennslyvania
Arizona State University
University of California- Los Angeles

Surrounding cities, location, weather, etc… played a role.

Duke, Holy Cross, Stanford, Princeton.

Once again, Duke is located in the ghetto of the triangle.

And Stanford’s campus is not that nice, at least compared to Princeton (my two college choices). It’s obviously very naturally beautiful, but the architecture is, as a previous poster said it, straight-up mission architecture. If you like that, then it will be good. I would rather not think I was entering a Taco bell every time I went to class.

Also, OP, would a campus with many roads, cars, etc. still be considered beautiful? Some schools (e.g. Stanford) feel more like a city in terms of vehicle traffic than others. I personally did not like that, but I can easily imagine why someone would want to be in a suburban environment with a more hustle-and-bustle feel.

I go to Emory and love it…just outside of Atlanta is a great location and the campus is goregeous. Lots of Georgia redbrick and green quad…sigh I can’t wait to go back…69 days until the end of summer haha :)

I applied to a lot of colleges though, and I thought Trinity College (CT), Wesleyan (CT), Middlebury (VT), and Amherst (MA) were beautiful. I love Emory and can’t imagine being anywhere else, but I did spend a summer in Amherst and I think it’s a beautiful college and area.
