BobbyCT – You’re right. I think I was confusing its location with Clermson. Although maybe that’s not so rural anymore either. It’s been a long time.

Cornell’s physical setting is the most beautiful I have seen among U.S. colleges. Do try to include Ithaca on your itinerary.

Carleton!

Almost 1,000 acres of adjoining arboretum with miles of running and cross country ski trails along streams, rivers and through woodlands and restored prairie. Minneapolis still only 50 minutes by highway away when the city bug bites.

You’d get great night sky views from New Mexico State in Las Cruces.

Cornell, of course!

On the Cornell CC site there’s a great video posted which showcases the stunning beauty of the Cornell campus. Suggest anyone interested check it out.

Don’t forget Centre outside of Lexington, Ky. Talk about rural but a beautiful campus.

I drove through Cornell and must have missed the good part. Saw everything except the gorges and it looked very much like any good public flagship–but not as good as the best ones. Guess it is all about the gorges. I was really quite surprised.
