Can someone tell me some of the best rural universities......like forests all around.....snow.......like massive beautifullness......im kinda breaking off from the last thread cuz i want something more specefic

Well, if LACs work for you, you should check into schools like Bowdoin, Swarthmore, Amherst. All are in somewhat rural settings (Bowdoin in particular) and are beautiful...

Datmouth College, University of Vermont, Bowdoin

Thanks... keep em comin

Hamilton, Colgate, Bucknell, Williams

Carleton is on the edge of the forest.

Cornell University is pretty rural.

Otay......

UC Santa Cruz... minus the whole snow thing.

Washington State University and the University of Illinois

I vote for u montana

WSU?/ hmm thats interesting Ill look into that one

It's a university in the middle of a cow pasture. BUt I've heard the campus is pretty good.

EDIT: Talking about WSU here.

Bowdoin really isn't all that rural -- I mean they have the nature center thing -- but it's not far from an outlet mall! Colgate is beautiful. Grinnell is a beautiful campus - and definitely in a rural area. I don't think of "rural" and "forests all around" as the same thing. Most rural areas don't have a whole lot of trees because the farmers chop them down to create farm land.

Look into Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Beautiful campus right by the ocean.

Humboldt State University, Thomas Aquinas College, and Sierra Nevada College.

Davidson college...it's pretty hard to get into but it's worth a look

Skidmore is pretty and in a woodsy rural area. Williams too.

My son had several rural (or small town) colleges on his list. He ended up at Williams which is in a profoundly beautiful mountain setting. Others would be Hamilton, Colgate, Kenyon, Skidmore, Amherst. I haven't been to Middlebury or Hampshire but think they would qualify as well. If you are female, Smith, Mt. Holyoke.

Swarthmore has a lovely campus but it is not rural.

Cornell is pretty beautiful, and somewhat rural. Dartmouth perhaps. The city of Hanover is surrounded by miles of forests (not that you'll notice if you go to Dartmouth). Hmm...other schools that come to mind...UC Davis is pretty rural. I can't think of that many! Haha, sorry.

UC Davis isn't really that rural in the "woodsy" way... more in the cow pastures and ag fields way... and also not particularly rural when considering it's about 10 minutes from downtown Sacramento.
