Because I need HEALTH....

Hi! Rising So-cal sophmore here, and my high school requires a health class to graduate. I'm definitely going to take it online, but here's the problem:

After completing the class, I'd get a letter grade (A, B, C, etc.). And this grade would be factored into my sophmore year's GPA and bring it down, even if I do get an A. While I'm not a member of the GPA-Obsessive-Club, I'd rather not bring it down.

Anyways, my counseler tells me I can take a college health class (as opposed to high school health) and recieve a pass/fail grade that won't hurt my GPA. However, BYU health course 370 is a bit....pricey ($400!). Are there any other online colleges you wonderful CCers know of that offer a cheaper course? Preferably within the state borders of California, or one that's completely virtual please. Oh, and has anyone else had this problem before?

It would drop your weighted, although help your unweighted. and also some colleges like FSU only include academic classes in the gpa so health wouldn’t even be in there

That is so not worth it. Just take the class. If you excel in the rest of your classes for your high school career, you won’t mind that you took that class. Plus it’s not even a big deal. I took Volleyball and HOPE( PE class) my freshman year and I don’t regret taking them. Just take the class and move on. :)

aww i was hoping this was going to be about your HEALTH, so i could promote cow liver.

I see I got a fellow Floridian ;)

Yes sir c: Nice to see i’m not the only one running around looking at threads like this and thinking *** is health??? OH U MEAN HOPE?

Here’s one, a public online that our district uses for summer school classes. I don’t think it covers all districts though, check and see if yours is included:
[Pacific Coast High School - A Public Orange County Independent Study and Online High School](http://pchs.k12.ca.us/home.html)

lol…its health and you have to take it. Thats too bad if it brings down your gpa
