who had already deicide where to go even Berkeley will accept them?
I m the one of them who decide to go to UCLA for Biz econ, but can anyone also give me some advice whether UCB econ or UCLA Biz econ? which one has a better job prospect?

just out of curiosity what is your gpa?

I will SIR on the spot if I get into Berkeley :). I know next to nothing about the econ departments though. Sorry :/.

I’ve already decided on UCLA, but I’m waiting for Berkeley decisions to come out to SIR, out of respect mainly because I originally wanted to go to Berkeley based on major rank and prestige and all that. But I changed my mind and I’m this close to buying bruin gear, but I’ll wait till I SIR first. I’m 3 for 3 in acceptances.

@ vintij: I’m just curious. How come you’ve decided on UCLA over Cal? I know English is great at both, but why the change of heart?

Berkeley has the better English department by far, but I realized I’d rather live in Westwood than Berkeley. I mean, for me to live in a crap hole like Berkeley, the academic benefits at UCB have to greatly greatly outweigh UCLA’s, and to me, I did not see a big enough gap in academics between the two holistically to warrant moving up north. I could understand if someone got into Haas or something though. Anyway that’s how I looked at it, the same way UC’s look at our application, holistically. I evaluated both schools and situations holistically.

How holistic of you.

[National rankings & faculty honors - UC Berkeley](http://berkeley.edu/about/rank.shtml)

That is why you should go to Berkeley if you get accepted. Unless you don’t like the area, the people, the weather or any other detail that matters more to you that academics. :)

Go BEARS!

I also applied to Berkeley (99% sure I’ll be accepted) but I’ve already filed my SIR for UCLA. A while back I wasn’t sure which school I wanted to go to, but UCLA has been my first choice for a while now, and that only became more true over time, so by last Friday there was really no doubt at all about my decision.

@ vintij: Yeah, that makes sense. I live in the Bay Area, so it would be a burden for me to move south as well. Not to UCLA (I wasn’t admitted) but to UCSD. I understand your point, and I wish you the best at UCLA!

@panicbutton
my gpa is 3.9

I’m waiting for Berkeley before I make my decision. I’d rather go to Berkeley but it would pose a greater financial strain than UCLA so I don’t know…

I’m pretty much decided on UCLA. I almost hope Berkeley doesn’t accept me so I don’t have to make that decision. How in the heck am I supposed to go and visit Berkeley though? It’s like a 7 hour drive!

berkeley. Ill SIR right then and there if i get in

I’ll SIR right away if I get into Berkeley too.

@arcadefire

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. Having a choice between two awesome universities would be great, but given admission to only one would make deciding a whole lot easier.

…How does one choose between an apple and an orange?

@UCcasuality, you pick the one that tastes better to you

^But sometimes I want an apple and other times I want an orange.

I have commitment issues… Which is also the reason I can never get a tatoo.

supposedly they have really cheap flights up to san fran from lax?!

LOL @UCcasualty. Same here. Can’t help it if I don’t want to be longing for an orange after I’ve chosen an apple. Hahaha.
